Cumberland County Law Enforcement Center & County Courthouse

EDA designed Cumberland County's 123,310 square foot, 4 story Law Enforcement Center which serves as the headquarters for all police and sheriff activities and mail services.

Constructed directly adjacent to the Law Enforcement Center, the Courthouse serves as the judicial center for the County, and these two facilities form a public square at the heart of downtown Fayetteville. In 1978 EDA designed the original courthouse which totals over 215,000 square feet and includes:

  • 12 court rooms
  • administrative offices
  • support facilities

In 1997 EDA designed renovations to all floors, totaling $2.7 million in construction costs. Part of the renovation included a Fire Alarm Study which involved an evaluation of the existing system equipment, a report on findings, recommendations, and design plans to correct deficiencies found.
