The new Western Carteret Library & Learning Center will house a public library as well as dedicated classroom space for Carteret Community College's course offerings.

The facility will include approximately 7,000 square feet of traditional library space, with the remaining 2,000 square feet allocated for classrooms which will be divided into 2 general purpose classrooms & 2 computer labs.

The facility will be located on approximately 1.5 acres of an 8 acre tract fronting Taylor Norton Road in Cape Carteret.

The site is owned by the Carteret Community College Foundation & the facility itself will be owned by the County which will enter into a long term land lease with the Community College.
